Pros Will hire new grads, and people with no experience Cons Will hire people with no experience I feel like I learned a lot here, you get experience with really sick patients. I always felt supported on my unit and our management was really involved. UHS was a great place to work, I honestly wish I was still there! The job could be challenging, but that's just the nature of the industry. The pay was great, management was supportive and help was always available if you were willing to reach out and ask. The only drawback I experienced was it is difficult to dismiss bad employees, but that is to be expected of any large corporation. (The process also guarantees employees a chance to improve, so it goes both ways) Pros Great pay, good benefits, good management Cons Can be high pressure We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best! Do these reviews help you learn more about working at UHS? Work-life balance Work-life balance at UHS is pretty good so far. I am hoping to stay on with this company for a while.
They expect you to work overtime like a slave. An employee told me "these guys work hard so they expect you to work harder. " Ummm your the owners of this place, you shouldn't punish others just bcuz it's hard to run your company. ● Pay & benefits My pay and benefits at UHS are terrible. They start you off with garbage pay and work you like a slave. The owner actually went home without paying me on pay day, which was really upsetting. ● Management In general, managers at UHS are really bad. They actually get upset when you ask them for help with something. I mean, your a manager. Isn't helping people your job? Was very excited to work for the company and be able to help people. At first it was promising and then it became clear that most people did not actually want to do their job or help the patients/visitors. The pay and raises are minuscule. Management mostly has not worked the job themselves and offer little help. Cons Poor pay, little compassion, not a great work environment Always short staffed No job security No input from staff when implementing new policies Low pay rates with no pay differential for mental health technicians Never seen a company go through so many employees so fast.
Pay & benefits My pay and benefits at UHS are pretty good for a new nurse. The benefits are pricy for a family plan. Job security and advancement In terms of job security at UHS, I think it seems pretty secure. Management In general, managers at UHS.. really sure on this yet. Culture Collaboration with my colleagues at UHS is great. Overall My experience working at UHS so far has been wonderful. Poor advancement opportunities along with poor management. No personal development. Just work, work, work. We are not even allowed to communicate openly with other members of our team. Taking time to actually learn more about your job and how to perfect it is highly discouraged. Pros Good health Insurance Cons No advancement opportunities, high turnover rates, horrible management. I enjoyed the job. It was good and I would recommend it to anyone. I learned a lot and lots of colleagues were helpful. Friendly staff too. I think I could use better pay but that's okay. Management was very unprofessional would make friends with employees and party together outside of work.
UHS considers employees just a number and does not like to pay properly the pay is alright but the upper management doesn't care too much. there's a high turn over rate on most floors due to this. the hospital also needs updating. Disorganized. Disrespectful. Disinterested in employee. No accountability. Unrealistic expectations ( when they are made clear). Traumatic experience for patients and staff alike. How they stay open must be through unethical means or a deal with the underworld king himself. Cons Left before I needed mental healthcare for myself They do show appreciation toward most of its employees. Compensation could be better but overall I felt needed in what I do there. I could not have worked at a better place. I hope to retire from this company and keep striving to do great things. I appreciate that fact that I get thanked for what I do when others here where I work and how long I've been there. UHS is very rewarding and I hope to be apart of its future success. Pros Free and they are good ● Work-life balance Work-life balance at UHS is trash.
